The night before

omr exam test

The time has come: in less than 24 hours you will be taking that test. Many months of preparation have come down to this day. What should you do and not do?

  • 1. Plan your way to the exam center.

    late

Make sure to map your way to the test center. You do not want to be there late or just in time, so try to be there earlier than the suggested time. It will help you to manage your stress and attune to your surroundings.

  • 2. Organize your documents and exam supplies.

    school supplies

Organize all the paperwork needed for the exam and any other supplies the night before. You do not want to be stressed trying to find your documents the day of the exam. Also, prepare any snacks and choose your clothes beforehand. It is better to do it early and relaxed than in the last minute when you might forget something.

  • 3. Exercise.

    exercise

A healthy dose of exercise will help you manage your stress, boost your confidence, and sleep well. A lot of test goers struggle with insomnia, a good solution to which is exercise.

  • 4. Avoid going to bed too early or too late.

    sleepwalker

Give yourself enough time to sleep, but do not try to force yourself to sleep too early. If you go to bed too early, you will not be able to fall asleep and you will probably suffer from increased stress, which will keep you awake for more than you originally planned. On the other hand, if you go to sleep too late you might suffer from lack of concentration the next day.

  • 5. Eat a healthy breakfast during the day of the exam.

    breakfast

You want to be at your 100% and a healthy breakfast will help you maximize your potential. You should prefer a meal with all the necessary nutrients for a functional brain and with stress reducing foods such as oatmeal or dark chocolate.

  • 6. Avoid at all costs a last minute preparation.

    worried student

Exam anxiety might urge you to do more practice questions or review your notes in the last minute. Avoid any desperate attempts to study your notes or do as many review questions as possible right before the exam. It will not help you with the test, but will only stress you further.

  • 7. Be confident in your preparation.

It is crucial to be confident. One effective way to gain confidence is to be thoroughly prepared.
