Application season for undergraduate degrees is well underway all over the world. Let’s begin our tour…
UK – UCAS
UCAS application deadline for most courses is January 15 2019. Generally, the earlier you get your application in the better. The Oxbridge deadline has expired as well as that for Medicine and Dentistry – that was 15 October 2018. More information here. Remember to print off a hard copy of your application before you pay and send.
US – Commonapp
The earliest deadline for Regular decision is January 1 2019. If you are looking for Early Decision or Early Action, then you had better go the university’s website and check. Make sure that you have created an account at Commonapp and have at least started thinking about that main essay – you have 7 choices this year. Remember it takes a lot, lot longer to complete the Commonapp that you would anticipate. Get started early!
US – University of California
The University of California has its own separate dedicated online application portal. There are 10 colleges under the UC umbrella and you can apply to all 10 if you want. The deadline is November 30 2018. There are 2 main essays – a total of 1000 words. Again, don’t leave it till the last minute!
