University of St Gallen

University of St Gallen

Switzerland typically conjures up images of its beautiful lakes and mountains, a country with an efficient political and banking system, and generally somewhere of a very high standard of living. Education wise Switzerland has always been renowned for its finishing schools and hospitality management. This, however, is a very superficial overview of a country that has been, and is, investing very heavily in its knowledge economy – think of some of the most powerful computers in the world and CERN. There are very highly ranked universities such as ETH in Zurich (10th in the world rankings), IMD and St Galen in Lausanne for Masters and MBAs, among many others. Switzerland is undoubtedly an expensive country to live in though the fees for many of the undergraduate and postgraduate degrees are surprisingly reasonable. Of recent there has been a notable increase in the number of undergraduate degrees delivered in the English language while some of the most valued Masters and MBAs are nearly all available in the English language.

At AGF Tutoring we are upbeat about an education in Switzerland and would strongly recommend it as a viable destination for a number of reasons: firstly, the level of education is extremely high; secondly, the teaching faculties are generally world class and the courses demanding and rigorous; thirdly, there is are very strong ties with industry and so excellent job opportunities; fourthly, the standard of living is unsurpassed; and lastly, qualifications from eminent Swiss institutions carry a lot of weight in a CV.
