Alastair Fisher is the Founder, Managing Director and Head Tutor of AGF Tutoring. With more than 40,000 hours of tutoring under his belt, Alastair is extremely experienced and knowledgeable about all the various university entrance examinations at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels as well as the tutoring requirements of school age pupils, including for entrance examinations and GCSE, A Level and IB. His track record reflects his success over the last 25 years.
Panagiotis Fasoulas is AGF Tutoring’s Marketing Advisor. One of the true legends of basketball, not only in Greece but also globally, Panagiotis distinguished himself as a great athlete playing in the NCAA for North Carolina State University and was drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers in 1986. He played for the Greek national team, then for PAOK Thessaloniki and Olympiacos Piraeus that won numerous championships in Greece and Europe. He was selected for the European All-Star Team a number of times. He was inducted in the FIBA Hall of Fame in the class of 2016. Panagiotis is one those rare individuals who not only distinguished himself as an outstanding athlete but he also enjoyed a very successful career as a Greek politician and as the Mayor of Piraeus. Panagiotis, therefore, brings a wealth of varied experience and knowledge to AGF Tutoring, particularly as far as effective promoting, marketing and public relations are concerned.
Nikos Kosmidis is AGF Tutoring’s Legal Advisor. Nikos heralds from a very prominent Greek family with an illustrious past – his father was also a very successful lawyer who eventually became the Secretary General of the Ministerial Council of Prime Minister of Greece Kostas Simitis, for the period 1996-2004. Nikos graduated from Athens Law School then did a Masters in the Athens Law School followed by an LLM at Kings College London. He is among the top EU competition law experts in Greece, ranked in two major legal directories, Chambers and Partners and the Legal 500. Nikos has also served as a Member to the Hellenic Single Public Procurement Authority. His specializations are multifarious allowing him to think incisively and adapt quickly. He has critically observed how AGF Tutoring came into being and readily accepted the position and has guided AGF Tutoring through its various legal peregrinations thus far.
Drosos Kourounis is AGF Tutoring’s Chief Technology Advisor. Drosos distinguished himself from an early age by winning the Gold Medal for Mathematics in Greece in 1995, and then representing Greece in the Mathematics Olympiad in Toronto (1995). He received his first degree in electrical and computer engineering from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in 2000 and his PhD from the Department of Material Science and Engineering, University of Ioannina, in 2008. From 2009-2011 he worked as a research scholar on optimal control techniques for the Smart Fields Consortium of the Department of Energy Resources Engineering, Stanford University, USA. Since 2012 he has been a Senior Researcher with the Institute of Computational Science, Università della Svizzera italiana, Switzerland. His research focused on simulation and optimisation of intercoupled multi-energy carrier systems, smart grids, and PDE-constrained optimization. Drosos’ expertise is truly wide-ranging and profound, allowing him to move effortlessly from one area to another. In November 2018 he joined NEPLAN as optimal control and power system optimisation engineer.
Jason Kouchak is one of AGF Tutoring’s Education Advisors. A well-known and celebrated composer, pianist, and songwriter, Jason has a fervor for inspiring the younger generations to involve themselves in education, especially via games such as chess, which has been and continues to be one of his unwavering passions. He has successfully encouraged children of all ages to involve themselves in both chess and music. At AGF Tutoring, Jason is always keen to proffer alternative ideas as to how pedagogy can be imparted most efficaciously and, most importantly, through the joy of learning and entertainment. Jason is Head of the Online Chess Initiative.
