If you want to give your college application that extra boost and stand out from all the other applicants, then one of the most effective ways is to do a SAT Subject Test in Italian. Submitting a decent score in the SAT Subject Test in Italian will definitely impress the university admission officers, and for many of the most highly ranked universities, at least 2 SAT Subject Tests may be a prerequisite anyway. And the more SAT Subject Tests that you can submit the better – they show that you have a much greater and wider knowledge set and it is very likely that you will awarded college credits for your efforts. Moreover, if you are an international student and English is not your native language then good SAT Subject Test scores can bolster your application tremendously.

More specifically, the SAT Subject in Italian requires some preliminary knowledge and therefore it would not be a prudent idea to embark on the preparation process if you are an absolute beginner. Ideally you should be at intermediate level to have fair chances of doing well in the SAT Subject Test in Italian. The actual test lasts 60 minutes and comprises 85 multiple choice questions, based on vocabulary in context (30%), structure (30%–40%) and reading comprehension (30%–40%). The scoring is on a scale of 200 – 800 and the test is available in August, October, December, May, and June.
